Design

The 2022 Sorento offers the same redesign debuted in the previous model year, on the inside and out. Featuring more head and leg room than ever before for both driver, passenger, and rear occupants. It features a more modern interior design, with superior technology and infotainment compared to the CX-9.

The CX-9 features a slightly more coupe-like shape with a slanted roof shape towards the rear, rather than it being squared off like traditional SUV designs. However, this design leads to less functional space for cargo on the interior. The exterior design compensates for this, with a body that is 25.5cm longer than the Sorento. On the inside, it lacks the full complement of technology features found in the Sorento.

Safety

Both models feature the same level of safety options and features across various trim levels. With features like blind spot monitoring, forward collision avoidance, lane-keep systems, automatic high beams, and an overhead-view monitor all equipped, you’ll be well protected in your 2022 Sorento. Performance

The CX-9 offers only one engine option, the 2.5L Turbocharged 4-Cylinder that pushes out 227hp and 310lb-ft of torque. The CX-9 has a combined fuel efficiency of 10.5L/100km, clocking in slightly higher than what the Sorento offers.
